Synopsis:

The story begins in a house with retro furniture and antiques from the 1950s. A woman awakes to a symphony of strange, unfamiliar sounds that seemed to be around the house. The mystery is unveiled slowly, piece by piece, in unexpected ways. This short fiction can be interpreted in many ways; let your mind wander and create your own Christina. What's your interpretation?

Inspiration

"Christina's World" - Andrew Wyeth

Andrew Wyeth's masterful artwork ushered me into the world of MAGIC REALISM. This conceptual driven painting perfectly executes the idea of surrealism; from the stroke, choice of color, person’s angle, to the perspective. The utilization of certain components in this painting are indistinct or concealed, however, these elements turn out to be the parts of interest that urge observers to gaze upon this painting repeatedly. In light of an individual's affiliation, when people inspect a work, human minds will automatically input their personal feelings and experience to complete their interpretation of the work. 

My short film Christina takes Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World and puts it into a three-dimensional realm with a surreal atmosphere, transitioning from scene to scene. The story’s specificity stirs the viewer’s imagination. The most fascinating part of using this concept to make a short film is that, no matter how people disagree on the interpretation, the audience will ultimately come to their own conclusion and be content with the result relying on their own judgment.
