XIAOYU YANG, a filmmaker based in New York City, is widely acclaimed for her work, and was honored with a BAFTA New York Scholar recognition. She's been making independent films in New York City since 2013, a milestone year where she earned her MFA degree in filmmaking from City College of New York. Her artwork is a multi-faceted exploration of feminism,
weaving together cultural experiences and imagery. In 2015, her feature-length documentary, A Lifelong Journey, which explored the life of the Chinese artist Dan Hsu, won her 7 awards, including best feature (student), best director, and best female filmmaker at the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Festival.
